INTERPRETAZIONE #1

“Paris” è uno degli ultimi singoli rilasciati dai The Chainsmokers, sicuramente un brano che negli ultimi mesi sta avendo un enorme successo a livello mondiale.

La canzone può avere diverse interpretazioni. La prima sembra essere quella più ovvia, ovvero che racconti di attimi, semplici momenti passati assieme con la persona amata. Ad ogni modo tutto il significato del brano ruota attorno alla parola Paris, intesa in primo luogo come città vera e propria, capitale della Francia, in cui si sono vissuti tutti i momenti narrati nella canzone, ma in secondo luogo anche come metafora per indicare tutt’altro e ciò aprirebbe ad altre interpretazioni della canzone: il video del singolo infatti ci spiega già tutto riguardo il significato che i The Chainsmokers vogliono dare a “Paris“, infatti nei primissimi secondi della clip ci viene data una definizione vera e propria:  1) un desiderio bramoso per una realtà che non è autentica 2) una irreparabile condizione fantasiosa che evoca nostalgia o sogni ad occhi aperti.

Alla luce di queste definizioni il testo della canzone sembra assumere tutt’altro tipo di significato: la canzone vuole dunque invitare tutti a rimanere svegli, vuole essere una sorta di lezione a non rimanere bloccati nei nostri sogni o ad un certo periodo passato della vita, ma nel vivere l’oggi, dunque vivere il presente e non i sogni o rimanere fermi ripensando solo ai tempi passati.
